Our mission
Argyll College, as part of the UHI Millennium Institute, will provide accessible education and training of the highest standard, to support the development of people, business and communities in Argyll and the Islands.


The following policies set out our aims and objectives..


ICT Acceptable Use

Argyll College computer systems are linked to other academic networks. Any person wishing to use our computer system must agree to the terms of this policy.

 

Equal Opportunities
We support the principle of equal opportunities in employment, education and training and opposes all forms of unlawful direct and indirect discrimination on the grounds of colour, race, religion, ethnic origin, nationality (including citizenship), gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status or disability.

 

Disability Equality Scheme
We are fully committed to the principles of disability equality, and through our Disability Equality Scheme and Action Plan we aim to ensure that all our policies, procedures and practices are non-discriminatory.

Complaints procedure
We aim to provide a high standard of service. Any expression of dissatisfaction by students or customers is treated seriously. Details of our complaints procedures are now available.

 

Fee Waiver Policy
Students may qualify for a discount in their course fees. This document outlines the criteria and application process.

 

Forum Privacy Policy
This statement outlines our practices in relation to information about yourself which you submit to us in order to use our on-line discussion forum.

 

Health and Safety Policy
Each learning centre is checked by a third party to confirm they provide a safe environment for staff and students.

 

Conflict of Interest Policy
Board members and directors of Argyll College have a legal obligation under the Companies Acts to act in the best interests of Argyll College and in accordance with Argyll College’s Memorandum and Articles of Association. Members of the management group and members of any sub committees are required by the board to comply with the Policy.


Stress at work Policy
Argyll College Ltd is committed to protecting the health, safety and welfare of our employees. We recognise that workplace stress is a health and safety issue and acknowledge the importance of identifying and reducing workplace stressors. This policy will apply to everyone in the company. Managers are responsible for implementation and the college is responsible for providing the necessary resources.

Harassment Policy
Argyll College UHI is committed to developing and maintaining an environment in which all staff can work free from any form of harassment, including racial or sexual harassment. Any incidents of harassment will be regarded extremely seriously and can be grounds for disciplinary action, which may include dismissal.

 

Public Interest Discolsure Policy and Procedure
The Public Interest Disclosure Act, which came into effect on 1 January 1999, amends the Employment Rights Act 1996, to give legal protection to employees against being unfairly dismissed or penalised by their employers as a result of publicly disclosing certain serious concerns.

 

Nursery Child Protection Policy
The Children (Scotland) Act 1995 states that each child has the right to protection from all forms of abuse, neglect or explotation. This document covers our policy on nursery child protection.

 

Policy on the recruitment of ex-offenders
Argyll College UHI Ltd undertakes to treat all applicants for positions fairly and not to discriminate unfairly on the basis of conviction or other information revealed.
